At Gassco R&I we move ideas forward. Every project we take on is about making operations safer, smarter, and more efficient, while reducing emissions and preparing our infrastructure for the energy systems of tomorrow.
Energy for future generations
Gassco’s vision is to secure energy for future generations. To help deliver on this vision, and our strategy, we are tasked with exploring what does not yet exist, test new ideas, learn and fail, to give the organisation a head start on tomorrow’s solutions. We do this in close partnership with the players on the Norwegian continental shelf, research institutions and universities, and other organisations. Do you want to collaborate with Gassco?
Our work is organised into three different strategic programs and one Innovation Hub, designed to implement innovation and new competencies in the organisation.
Our programs
Safe & reliable
Focus on continuous improvement and keeping our infrastructure safe and efficient, with special attention to inspection, monitoring, integrity, corrosion prevention, and barrier management.
Competitive systems
We continuously optimize the value chain to deliver energy efficiently and reliably from the Norwegian continental shelf. Our work helps reduce energy use, maximize gas production, and lower emissions, while making it easier for new fields to connect to our network.
New opportunities
We build knowledge and solutions for the future, focusing on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and low-carbon energy. Our projects qualify new technologies and explore alternative uses for our infrastructure, supporting the energy transition and Gassco’s role as an infrastructure architect.
Our role goes beyond operations
With a new national mandate, we have studied the possibility of future hydrogen infrastructure for large-scale exports to Europe, and we are contributing to the development of a European CO2 value chain.
