Gassco is operator for several joint ventures with varying ownership.
Gassled was on established January 1, 2003, when most of the Norwegian gas transport systems in place at the time were combined in a large new joint venture. Gassled comprises the onshore facilities at Kårstø and Kollsnes, along with a network of pipelines that connect these facilities to producing fields in the North Sea and parts of the Norwegian Sea. Additionally, the network facilitates transportation to both the United Kingdom and the continent.
Haltenpipe became operational in 1996. It connects the Heidrun field in the Norwegian Sea with the Tjedbergodden facilities, where gas is used to produce methanol and other products.
Valemon Rich Gas Pipeline started in 2015 and connected the Valemon field and the Heimdal platform where the gas was processed. In 2023, the Valemon rich gas pipeline was closed and the gas from the Valemon field is now transported to Kollsnes in Gassled.
Utsira High Gas Pipeline became operational in 2015. It connects the Edvard Grieg and Ivar Aasen fields in the North Sea with the SAGE transport system on the British side of the North Sea. Other fields are planning to connect to this system as well.
Polarled became operational in 2018. It connects fields such as Aasta Hansteen and other future fields in the Norwegian Sea to Nyhamna.
Vestprosess became operational in 1995. It is a processing plant for gas from Kollsnes and Sture.
The various transportation joint ventures do not have their own employees. Instead, they are operated by Gassco employees and technical service providers. Ownership control is maintained through dedicated management committees and various committees assigned with specific responsibilities.
