Receiving terminals

Gassco is the operator of several receiving terminals for Norwegian gas in Europe.

At the reception terminals, the Norwegian gas molecules undergo a final check before they enter the extensive distribution systems in Europe.

The reception terminals are located in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Belgium. The locations are not random. Through these terminals, Norwegian gas reaches the most important consumer countries in Western Europe.

At the reception terminals, the focus is on measuring quantities, checking gas quality, regulating pressure and temperature, and removing any liquid residues and solid particles. The primary task of the employees at the terminals is to ensure that the terminals are operational and available for deliveries of Norwegian gas around the clock. The uptime requirement is close to 100 percent. Therefore, the terminal employees do not have many hours in a year to perform work that requires a complete shutdown.
